New mediapartner for DEL

Deutsche Telekom is the new Media Partner of Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The telecommunication entreprise has saved the media rights for the upcoming four season (starting 2016/17) with an one-sided option for four further years. The contract includes all videos.

"With Deutsche Telekom, we have a partner that gives us the option to bring enthusiasm on hockey and reach even more people", says chairman of the DEL's supervisory board. DEL's CEO Gernot Tripcke states: "There are new and fascinating possibilities due to this partnership. This is a big step which will give hockey a lot forward."

"We are happy to have the media rights. The growing numbers of spectators show that the the DEL has developed very well in the last years and that hockey in Germany is getting more and more popular", says Michael Hagspihl, CEO Private Clients of Telekom Deutschland. "With the offer of all DEL-games on Entertain and our other platforms, we increase the value of sports in our supply."

Starting from the season 2016/17, hockey-fans can see all DEL-games live and in High Definition via TV-option Entertain as well as online, via mobile communications, Smart TVs and streaming services. Moreover, Live-games with partners in Free-TV are intended. More to the offers and conditions to come.
