Salcido "ready to go"
Brian Salcido is about to give his debut for ERC Ingolstadt. The US-defenceman has finished his rehab after a lower body injury before the estimated time. Salcido passed the medical check at the team doctors' office on Wednesday. With the club having applied the player's licence, Salcido might play his first game in the panther-jersey this weekend already.
Alexander Meierl, head of organization at Passauer Wolf Reha-Zentrum Ingolstadt, says, Salcido's way "is the perfect example of good communication and excellent provision of medical care beyond boarders ". The D-man suffered from the injury during summer training in USA, started his rehab overseas and continued with it in Ingolstadt. "Brian has really worked hard", says headcoach Manny Viveiros, praising the medical stuff for an "outstanding job".
Viveiros will give Salcido step by step more ice-time to help him to game shape. Salcido, who has entered into team practice during international break, says: "I am ready to go and anxious to play."
