Return match in Gothenburg
ERC Ingolstadt travels to Gothenburg on Tuesday to face Frölunda Indians (7 p.m., Central European Time, game day passes under www.championshockeyleague.net). With a surprising 4:2-victory in the first game, Ingolstadt is hungry to reach the round of Europe’s 16 best teams.
The Panthers played two teams this weekend that are currently on fire and were ranked in second place each in front of facing Ingolstadt. After a tough battle in Berlin (1:2), the Panthers came back with a 4:3-victory against Straubing. Ingolstadt is ranked 10th in German DEL.
The Indians from Frölunda are the top-dogs of Swedish SHL, beating Skellefteå 6:2 this Saturday. Coach Roger Rönnberg feels that this “has been our best game this season”. The broad chests are therefore back in Gotheburg.
Frölundas uprising star Andreas Johnson is the opinion that "Ingolstadt is a good team and they have a two goal lead coming to the second leg. We have to come out big and hopefully score early. We will go for it and definitely feel we have a good chance to stay in the tournament."
Regulations If the aggregate score of the two games is tied, there will be a 10-minute sudden-death overtime. In case of no team scoring, it comes to shootout.
