Buck stays for five more years

The ERC Ingolstadt will have Brandon Buck under contract until 2020. The forward player announced the early contract extension to the Panther fans at the opening ceremony of the season. Buck changed from the Swiss B league to the ERCI one year ago and has turned out to be the top scorer of the team. The Canadian player finished the playoffs, where the ERC players made it to the finals, with the most points.
“Brandon is a very valuable player for us,” Jiri Ehrenberger, the ERC sports director, says. “Therefore, it is even more delightful that we came to a quite fast agreement during the contract negotiations. Brandon Buck harmonises very well with the ERC and Ingolstadt, both in sporting and human matters. We are happy that he will stay in Ingolstadt at least until 2020.”
Buck emphasises that his family feels very comfortable in Ingolstadt and that receiving a five-year contract is an honour for him. Following the announcement, the fans celebrated Buck with long-lasting applause and choruses. About 1500 fans attended the cheerful opening ceremony of the season.
On Saturday the ERCI started its training phase for the new season with the tryout match against HC Orli Znojmo (2:3 after extra time). Emanuel Viveiros’ s team will stay in Laces, Val Venosta (Latsch, Vinschgau) for a training camp this week. The week spent in South Tyrol will end with the Panthers’ participation in the Dolomiti Cup in Egna (Neumarkt). Intensive training is meant to prepare the players for the beginning of the season.
The serious phase for the ERCI will begin on 22 August. The Panthers will fight against the Braehead Clan in the Champions Hockey League (CHL), Europe’s premier league. The match in Hamburg on 11 September and the home match against Augsburg on 13 September will mark the beginning of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) for the Panthers.
