Playoffs start on Wednesday

The DEL Playoffs 2016 are about to start. ERC Ingolstadt faces Straubing Tigers in round one. Game 1 will be held on Wednesday, 7.30 pm., in Saturn Arena. Few tickets are still availible under www.erc-ingolstadt.de/tickets

The first round is a best of-3-series, with games on Wednesday, Friday and if neccesary on Sunday. "We've got home is which is big", says forward Jared Ross, expecting a more physical style of play in playoffs. "You don't want to lose it but take adventage of it."
"The team with the bigger heart will win", says goalkeeper Timo Pielmeier.
"It does not matter that we beat Straubing twelf times in a row", states Captain Patrick Köppchen. "It's going to be a tough fight."

ERC Ingolstadt has played three times in the first round of playoffs (plus qualified various times directley for the quarterfinals). Twice, the Panthers won and made it to the seminfinals and one time even to the Championship.
Straubing has qualified twice for playoffs with the highlight semifinal 2012.

Players to watch
Straubing: Steven Zalewski is the leader of a hard working team and topscorer with 40 points in the main round. Mike Hedden was lately on fire. Goalie Matt Climie has found back to shape in 2016, defender Austin Madaisky scores well.
Ingolstadt: Brandon Buck is topscorer of ERC with 48 points in the main round. Brandon McMillan is currently running hot. Goalie Timo Pielmeier makes keysaves, defender Patrick McNeill is top scoring d-man in DEL.
