Training camp in Laces (Latsch)
This year, the ERC Ingolstadt will prepare for the new season in Laces, South Tyrol. From 10 to 16 August, the team, the German runner-up in ice hockey, will stay in Val Venosta (Vinschgau), a market town region of approximately 5,000 inhabitants.
“I know Laces and the region very well,” Jiri Ehrenberger, the ERC sports director, says. He adds: “The training conditions are excellent, the people are very hospitable, and the climate is also perfect for dry-run exercises.”
Preparing for the Dolomiti Cup
Next to the ice hockey stadium there is a sports field with a running course, a weight room and a swimming pool which offers possibilities to renew one’s strength.
“Of course, training is our priority, but there will also be several events for teambuilding,” Ehrenberger says. The programme covers hillwalking and mountain biking, but the team is also supposed to meet in the evening to exchange ideas in a relaxing atmosphere. The two games which are part of the Dolomiti Cup in Egna (Neumarkt) (approximately 70 kilometers from Laces) will be the highlight of the training week in South Tyrol. On Friday the ERC will play against Sparta Prag, on Sunday, depending on the final outcome of the game, they will either play against the winner or loser in the game Adler Mannheim vs Kloten Flyers.
Before returning to Ingolstadt on Sunday evening, the ERC professional players will use Saturday for final training exercises in Laces.
A get-together with fans on the Malga Tarres Alp (Tarscher Alm)
A get-together of fans and players is planned on the Malga Tarres Alp for Thursday. When booking a hotel in Laces directly via the tourism online portal, ERC fans will receive a free ticket for the cable car up and down the mountain for this event. If interested, you will find the booking portal under www.latsch.it – Panther fans are asked to write “ERC2015” into the comment field.
“We are happy to have guests as prominent as the ERC Ingolstadt with us and we hope that we will cooperate in the long term,” Roman Schwienbacher, the president of the Laces tourist association, says. The ERC sports director also regards this first training camp as a test run for several years of cooperation.
