Panthers sign Salcido
Brian Salcido joins the Panthers! The defender has signed a two-year-contract with the German runner-up champion ERC Ingolstadt.
Jiri Ehrenberger, Director Sports of ERCI, says: "Brian had some decent options, I am really happy he has decided to come to Ingolstadt. He performed good, none the less in the Champions Hockey League." Salcido played with his former club, the Finish Saipa Lappeenranta, the Panthers in CHL. The 30 year old US-American scored one goal versus Ingolstadt.
"He is a complete defender", says Ehrenberger. "He has great hockey-education and knows how to play hard, initiate an attack or shoot from the blue line." Past season, Salcido was the defender with the most points in the Finish league. He was twice All-Star in the AHL before.
"Ingolstadt has become one of the most competitive teams of the German league", says Salcido. He asked Tyler Bouck, who had lead Ingolstadt as Captain to the championship 2014, on the Panthers. "He only told me things that make you think it is the right club. I am looking forward to the new season." Brian Salcido's jersey in Ingolstadt has the number 22.
