Barta-Brothers united
For the first time in their career, the Barta Brothers Alexander and Björn are united in one DEL-team. Both centers signed with ERC Ingolstadt. While Björn has already been a Panther for five seasons, Alexander joins from local rival EHC Red Bull München.
"Alexander has proved in Germany as well as in Sweden that he is one of the strongest Germany centers", says Jiri Ehrenberger, Director sports at ERC Ingolstadt. Alexander Barta (153 games for the national team) is known as technically skilled playmaker. He says: "Ingolstadt has developed to one of the top-teams of the league. The organisation has really wanted me to sign. Of course it has been an advantage that my brother also plays here."
"Björn always gives his best, in summer camp as well as on the ice", says Ehrenberger. "He works hard for the team and leads the young guys with his experience." Björn Barta says: "There was no question wheather I would like to stay in Ingolstadt. Then, it has always been a dream to play with my brother in one team. We are happy that it has finally worked out."
